418 000 New jobs have been created since DA Cape Town Mayoral Candidate Geordin Hill-Lewis took office as mayor in 2021. Half of all jobs created in South African metros were created in Cape Town.
Today, Friday, 28 August 2026, Hill-Lewis, will unveil his More Jobs Pledge, one of his commitments in his five-pledge plan for Cape Town, where he will set out how the DA will build on this record and ensure that getting the basics right translates into real economic opportunity for residents.
