The DA in Lephalale is deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Maphuthi Rhina Langa on 01 May 2026 after a long illness.

Her Majesty Queen Langa was a pillar of strength, dignity, and wisdom within her community and beyond. Throughout her life, she demonstrated unwavering commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage, the upliftment of her people, and the promotion of unity and social cohesion. Her leadership was marked by humility, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility to those she served.

Her passing is not only a loss to the royal family but to the broader community and all who had the privilege of witnessing her dedication to service and tradition. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, integrity, and visionary leadership that will continue to inspire generations to come. As political parties we were welcomed warmly whenever we visited the royal house. The DA councillors in Lephalale municipality will pay a visit to the royal house for condolences.
