Tomorrow, 15 April 2024 , the DA constituency head for Tzaneen, Solly Malatsi MP, accompanied by councillors will lay criminal charges against the municipal Manager for Tzaneen Local Municipality.
Under the stewardship of the present municipal manager and his predecessors in title, the Tzaneen Municipality allowed its sewage infrastructure to deteriorate into a state of total disrepair. Despite consistent pleas and complaints by various stakeholders, the municipality did not seem to care about the constant leaks and streams of raw untreated sewage.
The DA will not stand idly by while our environment is being neglected due to a municipal official’s negligence and non-caring attitude.
We urge the SAPS to attend to this matter and prevent any further environmental pollution endangering the health of Tzaneen residents.
