The DA in Ba-Phalaborwa welcomes the cautionary suspension of the Municipal Manager, Dr Pilusa.
During a special council sitting on 19 September 2024, a resolution was taken to place the municipal manager on precautionary suspension for misconduct for a period of 30 days.
It was further resolved to appoint an independent investigator within 7 days, to investigate Dr Pilusa’s failure to appoint a security company to replace the A Team security company whose contract ended on the 31 of August 2024; a contract which incurred irregular expenditure of R49 million that compromised the municipality’s audit outcomes for three years.
Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality remains plagued by ANC mismanagement and fails to deliver the most basic services to people.
The DA will continue to play its oversight role and monitor the consequence management within the municipality to ensure that it is in line with the regulations and improves service delivery.
