The Democratic Alliance in Limpopo extends our deepest and most sincere condolences to the children and grandchildren, family and friends of Marcelle Maritz, who have lost a dear loved one; to the Freedom Front Plus in Limpopo, who lost their provincial leader and to her colleagues in the Limpopo Legislature, who lost a spirited and joyous colleague.
Marcelle Maritz is well known to the DA in Limpopo as she served as DA councillor in Mokgalakwena where she made positive contributions.
After Ms. Maritz joined the FF+, we remained on collegial terms and had fruitful engagements in coalition governments in Limpopo.
Ms. Maritz was the first member of the FF+ to serve in the Limpopo Legislature since 2019, she was always professional and committed and joyous despite the constant pressure that politicians work under.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and colleagues and we wish them courage and strength in this difficult time.
