The Democratic Alliance (DA) will write to the Mayor of Molemole  Municipality, Mashilo Paya, to  rehabilitate  Mogwadii Park and to investigate the dilapidation of the facility.

After numerous complaints from residents about the run-down park, the   DA conducted an oversight and found the facility in a state of neglect.

The park is overgrown and facilities such as the swimming pool, toilets, dressing rooms and swings have been vandalised. (See photos here, here and here)

The community recreational facility was built at a cost of  R3 million. The lack of maintenance and the appointment of an incompetent security company who did not deploy guards at the park, resulted in the facility’s demise.

Access to recreational facilities is a right which enhances health and well-being. We call on Mayor Paya to rehabilitate the Park, not only to enhance the quality of life, but to create a more cohesive environment for Mogwadii residents.
