The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Limpopo will question the MEC for Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure about the urgent steps needed to repair the rapidly deteriorating Road D447 between Ga-Kgapane and Tzaneen.
This road is a critical route connecting Ga-Kgapane to Tzaneen, yet reports from residents highlight severe structural failures, particularly at multiple bridges, making it increasingly unsafe and difficult to navigate—a potential death trap.
The deteriorating road conditions have severely impacted local residents, the agricultural sector, businesses, and emergency services, raising growing concerns over road safety and accessibility.
Despite repeated commitments from the provincial government, a recent oversight visit by DA Councillor Matome Serumula has revealed little to no visible progress in addressing the issue.
The DA will be raising urgent questions in the provincial legislature regarding:
- The status of repair plans and whether funds have been allocated for urgent maintenance.
- The role of appointed contractors and whether due diligence was followed in the procurement process.
- Steps the MEC will take to ensure the road is repaired without further delays.
The people of Ga-Kgapane deserve safe, reliable infrastructure.
The DA remains committed to holding the government accountable and ensuring that promises translate into real action.
